Mass GA
Mass General Assembly
Saturday | July 7 | 3pm

Last week officials from the City of Albany attempted to disperse OA's General Assembly in Washington Park. They claimed that we are not allowed to have political signs or folding chairs in the park. Occupiers refused the order and sat down on top of their signs. The officials eventually left but indicated that they would be back.

This Saturday, join us for a large general assembly to send the message that we will not be silenced or intimidated. Please bring a large sign or banner and join us as we exercise our right to assemble in public spaces! The GA will feature detailed report-backs from the National Occupy Gathering in Philadelphia.

Student Movement Solidarity Marches
Wednesday | 7:45pm | Townsend Park

For over a month, we have marched in solidarity with the student strike in Quebec.  Each march has been a great time to connect a worldwide class struggle to our own local universities and colleges. We will continue to march in solidarity with the student movement in Canada as we build our own here at home. This march is part of an international uprising that will continue every Wednesday in defense of affordable, accessible public education. Join us as we take the streets in opposition to austerity policies that divest from our schools and communities directly into the pockets of the 1%.

Gather at Townsend Park at 7:45pm where there will be a brief teach-in, beginning the march shortly after 8:00pm. Townsend Park is at the intersection of Central Avenue, Washington Avenue, and Henry Johnson Boulevard in Albany. See you there!
