The Cuomo Administration is trying to figure out how to open our state to fracking, and the statewide movement to ban this insidious practice is gearing up for an unprecedented month. Governor Cuomo is beholden to the gas industry because of campaign contributions. They helped get him elected; now he needs to scratch their backs.
He's flirting with disaster and we need to respond with force.
Fracking causes widespread water contamination, air pollution, and destroys towns by imposing an unwelcome burden on their roads, first responders, and residents' general peace of mind, turning vital local economies into boom and bust cycle sob-cases. A recent Times Union editorial spoke of Governor 1%'s plan to green-light fracking regulations before Labor Day. That means we have very little time to demonstrate the full ferocity of our opposition to this plan.
We need everyone to be in Albany at the end of the month.

It's happening Saturday through Monday, August 25-27
Leading up to the event, there will be a few chances during which you can whet your anti-fracking appetite, as the statewide resistance escalates pressure against the Governor's plan, as follows:
