Maybe National Geographic is just some loony 'conspiracy theorist' but they seem to report the exact type of thing that a purposely dumbed-down populace would instantaneously dismiss as 'crazy conspiracy theories' rather than to sincerely consider and research said report. Though their language is still very much in line with a public regimented to believe in nationalism (identifying with one's state as a matter of priority - usually indoctrinated to a people by way of enforced symbolism/flag-identification and repetitious, forced oaths of allegiance to a nationalist-symbol), the 125 year old documentarian organization tells some hard-to-take truths about the United States government over which, today's common viewers would likely in dealing with, become stuck on the first of The Five Stages of Grief: denial of reality, anger, bargaining with reality, depression, acceptance of reality. Sometimes reality is that traumatic, and step one can be too big a step to overcome.
Maybe the disturbing history of the U.S. government's experiments on the otherwise free people of America, by propagandizing, drugging, infecting, and/or assassinating at will amongst a people the government covertly claims total corporal authority over - maybe these things could have only happened in the past. Maybe these are just some old mistakes that could never happen again - and we don't have to worry about the government doing anything like this today. Or maybe TV-watching Americans are already too disempowered to consider this important history lesson - let alone to understand how propaganda works and what their corporate-state commercial television programming is capable of. Maybe the average corporate-state-media trusting citizen is already far too disabled to realize we are still currently claimed as property to be experimented on, propagandized, drugged, infected, or assassinated at the government's whim as far as that government is concerned. Or maybe National Geographic is just a 'crazy conspiracy theorist'.
Maybe Nazi Scientists and Intelligence Officers weren't really brought safely into the United States after WWII - avoiding prosecution for their war crimes - to become founding members of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency and NASA. Maybe the CIA didn't really engage in experimentation on an unwitting American public, while NASA benefited from immoral Nazi-science research for rocket-based exploration and weapons programs. Maybe these things which are uncomfortable to believe, never really happened simply because we wouldn't like it to be the truth of our reality - our egos just can't handle identifying ourselves as such a society, one with a government covertly co-opted by secretive, ominous and exploitative interests.
